Jonny Petts. It’s a name violently ricocheting around the inside of quite a few Canon 500D owners heads out there and it’s no wonder either. Jonny, after all, is the man trying to bring manual controls (amongst other things) to the 500D!

What it looks like at Jonny's end! Where is the "Add Manual Controls & Extra Frame rates button"? 
When I first got wind of this, I was very, very interested! I’d always thought that surely as soon as the Canon 5D MKII Firmware Update that gave the user manual control over ISO, Aperture and Shutter speed came out, somebody would take up the reins and find a way to port that over to it’s baby brother the Canon 500D. It never happened. I guess by the time the Canon 7D came around, most people had seemed to forget about the fantastic little 500D.

Again, I’m hanging on every word that Canon Rumors is posting as more and and more information comes to light on the new Canon 7D.
Turns out it’s spec’d to sit in between the Canon 5D MKII and the 50D. It’s still an APS-C sized sensor with a probably 1.6X crop factor, but it trumps even the
