Guys, it’s with a very heavy heart that I must share with you this bad news. . .There really is no other way to say it so I might as well just be out with it. Jonny Petts was not successful in his attempts to hack the 500D and he has put the project to an end.   Jonny's life is full of text based awesomeness! Is it happening? Isn’t it happening? Has something happened? When will we know what happened? Can we donate to make it happen quicker? Will we know after it’s happened or will they tell us while it’s happening? All tough questions, with one easy answer. Yes! Where is the "Add Manual Controls & Extra Frame rates button"? When I first got wind of this, I was very, very interested! I’d always thought that surely as soon as the Canon 5D MKII Firmware Update that gave the user manual control over ISO, Aperture and Shutter speed came out, somebody would take up the reins and find a way to port that over to it’s baby brother the Canon 500D. It never happened. I guess by the time the Canon 7D came around, most people had seemed to forget about the fantastic little 500D.
